When Mackenzie first met Landon, the new kid, she just knew it was fate. They bumped into each other and as her many books fell from her arms, it was as if something inside her snapped and the wedding bells in her head just began ringing harmoniously. Ever since then, Mackenzie has always had this crush on the ever mysterious Landon Hart. She did everything she could to get closer to him and, by luck, she succeeded. The two became wonderful friends easily. Their friendship was the kind that went through every single phase possible. It went through the early awkward stage, the more-like-siblings-than-friends stage, and, of course, the friends with benefits stage. One phase it didn’t go through, however, is the one where they both fall in love with each other. For Mackenzie, it was love at first sight. But for Landon, it was simply a great friendship.
The Connection:
As a part of the Barlow family, Mackenzie grew up unable to take no for an answer. And even from Landon, she never has gotten a rejection or denial. She’s never told him about her feelings, anyway. Things get rough when he tells her that he’s leaving the country, though.
For so many years now, the two have been absolutely inseparable. Though Mackenzie was quite the popular student and was chased around by a lot of guys, her eyes were only for Landon. She followed him wherever he went. She joined clubs he was a member of. She started eating lunch with him instead of her other friends. She became the outcast among her group of friends while she and Landon soared to the top of the food chain together. And it was all for the sake of her so-called love. Landon, on the other hand, has barely noticed this.
Mackenzie did her research and quickly convinced Landon to put her name in as his Connection. Things were going well. She gets to visit him in the House of Eovi once a week and they’re still quite the inseparable couple. But what happens when Mackenzie realizes that Landon is slowly falling for someone else? A contestant, no less. Will Mackenzie be able to resist her urges and let Landon be happy? Or will she sneak inside the House one night and simply rip the other girl’s head off? Figuratively, of course.

Ever since the two could remember, Jonathan and Daisy have always been the best of friends. Their mothers were childhood friends too, so it wasn’t a surprise that the two have known each other since they were in diapers as well. They used to fight and quarrel a lot as kids, but all that has been forgotten now. Sometimes, during nights that the other’s family would spend dinner in the other’s house, their parents would remind them of how they used to practically kill each other for the last cookie. These were the nights that equalled smiles even until they got home.
Things changed when Daisy met Neil. Jonathan still hates himself for having introduced the two. He and Daisy grew apart as she began hanging out with Neil’s group of friends more. She began smoking, drinking, and abusing drugs. She rarely ever came home. There would even be times that Daisy would be found on the streets with a bottle of alcohol in one hand, staggering in heels that could kill a person.
Jonathan, of course, was completely aware of how Neil was only using Daisy because of her undeniable beauty and whole-hearted trust. One night, as they were having some fun in a nearby club, Neil dragged a very drunk Daisy out to the dance floor and began practically undressing her in front of everyone. Jonathan finally snapped. He tried to make Daisy leave the place with him, but she only shouted at him and told him that he’s ruining everything. They never spoke to each other again.
Many months later, Jonathan got news of Daisy’s not leaving home. Her mother visited their house one day and kept nagging him to make up with her daughter already. Jonathan was hesitant to talk to her at first, but, of course, he knew it was his fault that she was being this way anyway. He got there just in time before she left for the House of Eovi. Barely any words were exchanged. Daisy kept trying to apologize, but their meeting mainly consisted of hugs. Jonathan didn’t want to let her go away, but he did. The only assurance he got that they’ll be keeping in touch was Daisy’s promise. Little did he know that he’ll be getting to visit Daisy inside the House once every week.
The Connection:
Simply putting it, Jonathan is one of those people who always have a smile plastered on their face for some unknown reason. He’s cheeky and an all around happy guy. Even when he and Daisy had their major misunderstanding, Jonathan tried his best to not let this get him down too much. Just the way his smiles didn’t reach his eyes after that, however, is already a huge change for people.
Not once has Jonathan even thought of having a more-than-friends relationship with Daisy, but ever since that time he last hugged her before she entered the House of Eovi, the idea’s been playing around his head more and more. Will he finally be able to put his feelings into words? Or will he be the coward he sees himself to be and just watch Daisy strain her neck to find the One?
Eric Lewiston | 18 | “The Clown” | FC: Charlie McDonnell | Open
Being charming, witty, and intelligent can definitely do wonders to a person’s ego. But for Eric, these are traits of his that he himself barely even notices. Eric is best known around their small little village for his jokes and pranks. He’s uncomfortable around people who are upset in any way and tries to avoid them, but would do anything to cheer the people close to his heart up. And he barely even has to try. Just a few words, a smile, and some random mumbo jumbo from him always somehow manages to enliven anyone’s day. Eric loves to cook and would usually sing when he does. He also tends to blurt scientific facts out when he feels that things are getting awkward.
Eric comes from a very happy family. His father’s quite a well known chef and his mother’s a simple house wife. He has two older sisters. One is in college and the other already has a family of her own, but they both try their best to come and visit home often. Eric loves his family deeply, and, unlike most of the other contestants, doesn’t have any family-related problems at all. As some would say, Eric is completely ‘pure of hatred’. And perhaps that’s why Madam Eovi picked him to be one of the contestants. In a house full of perplexed teenagers, there has to be someone to lighten the mood.
Why did you apply for the House of Eovi? Is this going to affect my chances of winning? Because I honestly don’t even remember why I applied.

Katherine Cutrone | 18 | “The Over Achiever” | FC: Amber Heard | Open
Most people, if not everyone, see Katherine as perfect. She’s the golden girl. She’s extremely beautiful, smart, and she doesn’t boast about it. Her parents aren’t always around for her because of their hectic business schedules, but this isn’t a very big price to pay for someone who gets to live off their family fortune anyway. At least, that’s what her friends think.
Katherine is dying inside. She hasn’t had a proper conversation with either of her parents for many years now. Phone calls rarely last for more than five minutes. And they haven’t been home for more than two weeks for so long. Katherine is determined not to let these things faze her, though. She wants to prove to everyone, not just her parents, that she can live on her own; that she doesn’t need her parents’s support or money. The question is, will she make it? Can she stand being ‘independent’ any longer? Or will she break down and settle back for being the ghost of the family?
Now, Katherine tries harder than ever to make everything perfect. She stays up late at night, studying hard to get straight A+’s in school. She joined the cheerleading squad for the popularity. And she’s the Student Council President. Everything was already perfect. Even more so when she got the acceptance letter from the House of Eovi. Paige is the girl who’s done it all. She’s gone from the resident bitch to the family sweetheart. She did drugs and also campaigned against bullying and animal abuse. She used to sing in concerts, but skipped a whole day of classes just to avoid reporting about the history of China. All her life, Paige has been transferring schools and skipping from city to city almost every year. This makes switching her image from bad to good and back simply too easy.
Right now, Paige is working the typical, confused eighteen year old thing. And she might not realize it for now, but that’s exactly what she is. Paige doesn’t know who she is and she’s tired of going all extreme on trying to find out. She might never admit it, but she’s exhausted. Everyday, before she goes to sleep, she would think of a new image to try out when their family moves again. She gets creative and her ideas do make her smile, but she knows that one day, the thrill of change will wear out and she’ll be left with no real personality. She’ll just be plain, boring Paige Terri. But can anyone make her see that she anything but that before she leaves the city once again? Will Paige ever find anyone who loves her for who she really is?

Samuel Berger | 18 | “The Relaxed Guy” | FC: Freddie Highmore | Open
Samuel finds the simple things in life to be the best things to look at. He’s that guy who would sit on the window ledge and watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee every morning. He’s the one who takes time to appreciate the smell, sight, and flavour of freshly cut watermelons. He’s that person who would suddenly stop talking to acknowledge the scent of summer rain as it wafts through the open window. To put it simply, Samuel’s extremely relaxed and laid back.
Some people find Samuel to be a bit strange for being so calm during tough or sad situations. Some would even hate on him for it. But it’s not that he doesn’t care. He just can’t bother to do anything about things. He feels as if there isn’t anything he can do about the world’s or his problems anyway. When a problem comes, he just lets it pass by. He ignores these things, hating the feeling of getting stressed. Things are different when opportunities come knocking on his door, though. He thinks about them first. If he thinks the opportunity isn’t right for him, he lets it pass too. But if it’s a good one, then you’ll be surprised by his determination.
Samuel’s grades are somewhat high and he doesn’t drink or smoke. He loves to run and he plays the guitar occasionally. He lives with his parents and his younger brother in a small flat in the province. He doesn’t really have anyone he considers a ‘friend’, and often finds comfort in being alone. Samuel can also be considered as a bit of a mystery, but is also talkative at times.
Why did you apply for House of Eovi? I just wanted to do something different, you know.
What do you want to gain from House of Eovi? Nothing really… Money would be nice, though.

Grace Tanbien | 18 | “The Shy One” | FC: Amanda Seyfried | Open
Grace Tanbien has lived her whole life in the shadows of her older siblings. She’s the type of girl you’d expect to be hiding behind a few loose strands of hair. She’s the girl that never raised her hand when a question was asked during class. She’s the one at the back of the room who always speaks in her low, barely audible voice. Basically, Grace rarely ever voices out her opinions.
Her older sister has graduated from Dartmouth and is on her way to becoming a successful lawyer while her older brother is working for BBC all the way in Europe. Grace, on the other hand, is barely passing her classes in school. She wants to do something about this, but her terribly low self esteem holds her back. This year, however, Grace is determined to change that. She entered the House of Eovi in hopes that she would be able to force herself out of her shell under the tough pressure. She tries to laugh more, talk more, and just be friendlier in general, but will she need more help than she thought?
Inside the House of Eovi, Grace will find standing out to be easier than she thought. She gets an easy head start to people liking her and it’s all thanks to her physical beauty. Now, all eyes are on her and she has to prove that she’s more than just a pretty face.

Graham Salin | 18 | “Mister Charming” | FC: Alex Pettyfer | Open
Having been raised in a town many miles away from the city, Graham is definitely a small town kind of guy. He’s out-going, witty, and humorous, but it’s his candy-sweet temperament that win most people over. When he isn’t helping his father out at work and his mother at home, Graham can usually be found helping people around their little village. His helpfulness is his strongest charm. As a kid, this made him popular with the elders. As he grew up, his face is already famous around the little children, especially those that he’s baby-sat before.
In school, Graham gets average grades, even though he often skips classes to stay home with his sick mother. Their family has never struggled with finances, but, being the eldest of five, Graham knows where his priorities lie. He knows how to have fun, but also knows his limits. This isn’t the reason that he doesn’t have a girlfriend, however. Graham doesn’t believe in true love. Sure, his parents are a clear symbol of love beyond simple affection, but Graham believes that times have changed now. People no longer care about love. Everything’s about the money.
Graham’s a strong person, physically, mentally, and emotionally. He stands by what he believes in, but doesn’t look for much in life. He just wants trust and happiness, but needs so much more than that. Graham needs someone to show him that, in this cruel world, love still does exist.
Why did you apply for the House of Eovi? My friend actually sent my application in as a joke. I was definitely surprised when I got a letter saying I got accepted, but it’s never right to reject good opportunities, right?
What do you want to gain from the House of Eovi? Life experience, if anything. I want to learn about… Everything in general, basically. I feel like I’ve been missing out.
